Defined as a suspect, Bahar bin Smith was not detained by the police

"Not yet (pretrial), it's still a discussion first," he said.

Previously, Aziz said that the Dittipidum investigator Bareskrim Polri had set his client as a suspect.

According to him, Bahar was charged with Article 16 juncto Article 4 of Law Number 40 of 2008 concerning the Elimination of Racial and Ethnic Discrimination, Article 45 juncto 28 paragraph (2) of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions (ITE), and Article 207 of the Criminal Code.

"So after the inspection throughout the day. The investigating team set him as a suspect," Aziz said at the Bareskrim temporary office in Gambir, Central Jakarta on Thursday (6/12).

This case began after Bahar was reported by a person claiming to be from the Jokowi Mania group. The report was received with the number LP / B / 1551 / XI / 2018 / Bareskrim dated 28 November 2018.

In response to the report, police investigators also examined 11 witnesses and four experts. After that, the investigator increased the status of the case to the level of investigation while sending a letter of request to the Directorate General of Immigration of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights to prevent Bahar from going abroad.

However, the confirmation was not obtained until this news was revealed.
