Son of a Dukcapil Officer Becomes an e-KTP Stamp Seller Now a Suspect

Kata Pos. Jakarta, the Metro Jaya Regional Police (Polda) establishes the child of an official of the Provincial Government Population and Civil Registration Office (Disdukcapil Pemprov) Lampung, initials NID (27) as a suspect in the case of selling electronic e-KTP cards online or online via Internet.

"Yesterday, we arrested the culprit in Lampung. The NID initials and then he was indeed his son rather than the Dukcapil employee in Lampung there," said Head of Public Relations (Kabid Humas) Polda Metro Jaya Senior Commissioner Argo Yuwono at the Polda Metro Jaya Headquarters, Jakarta on Tuesday (11/12).

He explained that NID initially took the e-KTP blank without the knowledge of his parents who were officials of the Lampung Provincial Government Disdukcapil. After that, NID sold the e-KTP blank online.

Argo said, based on a temporary investigation, it was known that NID had sold 10 copies of the e-KTP for Rp. 50,000 per exemplary.

He continued, based on the investigation while it was also known that NID used three accounts on the internet to sell the e-KTP blank.
However, Argo said, the investigators were conducting further investigation because they suspected the number of accounts used by the NID was more than the result of the interim investigation.

"Certainly not only one account is marketing," he said.

Argo added, his party ensnared NID with Law Number 19 Year 2016 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions (ITE) and Law Number 24 Year 2013 concerning Population Administration.

According to him, investigators were also officially detained against the NID starting today, Tuesday (11/12).

This case originated from the Ministry of Home Affairs report which found the practice of free e-KTP sales conducted online.

The Director General of Population and Civil Registration of the Ministry of Home Affairs Zudan Arif Fakrulloh said the seller of the e-KTP stamp online was only a motive.

Even though it was just a fad, continued Zudan, the behavior of this person had made a lot of noise. This fad also resulted in a decrease in trust in the Ministry of Home Affairs, because the public suspected that there was a broken system.
